AudioNeon On Hold Systems
Frequently Asked
Questions
How do I select the music for our on-hold system?
Answer: You don't have to! Rather than including one
music style or another.. or having to choose between Jazz, Classical and
the like, we've carefully selected and mixed several great sounding and
interesting music tracks to complement the messages & provided information
The benefit here is that your callers will not be
subjected to the same tune over and over, where instead they will be
enjoying multiple beds with various styles. But if there is a particular
sound you want, we can direct you to the website of our primary composer!
I already have a radio hooked up to my phone
system. Can I just unplug the radio and replace it with the AudioNeon
system myself without any special equipment?
Answer: Yes, the system is shipped with all the
cabling you need to connect to your MOH (music on hold) ready phone system
into most RCA or 1/8th inch mini phono jack.
My Phone System uses a Punch-Down block on the
wall adding new handsets and equipment. Is the Audio Neon system
compatible?
Answer: Yes, you just need to know which pair of
terminals to connect to. Anytime we encounter a punch down block, we
recommend having your phone system dealer or service technician hooking up
an audio cable ending with a male/RCA connector (which connects directly
into the AudioNeon digital player).
Our phone system is 2-line rollover phone system.
Can I use the AudioNeon System?
Answer: Special equipment is required to connect any
Message on Hold audio into a single line or roll-over phone system. This
equipment costs anywhere from $250 to $400 depending on the type of phones
you are currently using. We would be happy to provide you with this when
you call our toll free number. 888.848.4667
Does your system work with Call Waiting?
Answer: Afraid not, since the hold is taking place
at the actual phone company, which is where the AudioNeon would need to be
connected for this to work. But wouldn't it be great if everyone in town
heard your message anytime a call was on hold for all the other
rollover/single line phone system in your calling area?
I have my own CDs that I would like to use, can I
include them?
Answer: Not really. CD music collections are almost
always copyrighted and cannot legally be played in the office or phone
system as a means of entertaining clients without paying the proper
ASCAP/BMI/SESAC licensing fees. The great thing about the music included
with every AudioNeon system, is that all music usage and licensing fees
have been prepaid for you, forever. You never have to worry about
annual royalties or payments due to anyone. And it sounds great!
But I hear the radio all the time on-hold at other
stores. Isn't that copyrighted material?
It sure is, plus they are also doing what the FCC
refers to as rebroadcasting a signal which technically illegal (but not
really enforced) without the radio stations permission, after which you
are still required to send money (the price is based on the number of
phone lines you have coming in). But why replay radio, traffic reports and
lots and lots of commercials to your clients, when they really would
rather hear about your offerings?
I have music that I wrote and performed myself.
Can we use this as our music bed?
Answer: You betcha. Send it to us after your system
is up an running, and we would be happy to transfer your messages to your
own music bed.
About AudioNeon Information On Hold Systems
How do I update or changes the message?
Answer: Just call our toll free number, visit our
website or email your copy changes. Well produce and send you your new
program update.
We already know the specials and events we want
to promote. Can I send them to you all at once?
Answer: Yes.
Can we pre-purchase messages updates and then
send you the copy later on over the following year or two?
Answer: Yes you can, and when you do purchase
a 4 or 12 pack of messages updates, you dont have to worry about
expiration dates, but we do recommend you try and use them within 3 years
of purchase.
Can I keep and reuse my original messages if we
order new or additional program?
Answer: Yes.
How do I choose the order of play of the
messages?
All the messages are run in a continuous cycle, so
when you place a caller on hold, they may catch the on-hold program on the
1st, 4th or 8th message in the line up.
So there is no reason to choose the order as you never know where the
program will be when the caller is placed on hold, plus you may not want
them to hear the same 1 or 2 messages if they call in on a quasi-regular
basis
How much music is there between each message?
Our experience shows that the best amount of time is
around 15 seconds of music between messages. Anything less may come across
as too much information. Additionally this amount of time actually reduces
the perceived hold time for those high tide call in periods where
callers may be on hold longer than normal. However, if you have a
preference for the timing between the messages, just include this with
your script information and well be happy to provide this.
Is the AudioNeon Digital Player FCC Approved for
use with our phone equipment? Absolutely. Our digital announcer
conforms to all rules and regulation set forth by the FCC. And you and
your callers will appreciate the near CD-quality and clarity of your
programming!
